SpoKe is a Boston University affiliated annual literary journal edited by Karina van Berkum and Kevin Gallagher. It seeks to foster: 1. Internationalist poetry that engages with or is from the world’s places, cultures, and literary traditions. 2. American poetry that sees the English language and literary tradition as important, but only one of many roots and paths for poetry. 3. Poetics that attempts to innovate idiom, language, and poetic form while maintaining a public audience.

Nicholas Brealey Publishing

Karina has worked as an editorial intern at Nicholas Brealey Publishing House, a Hodder & Stoughton affiliate. Nicholas  Brealey publishes a select list of enduring and forward-thinking books focusing on big ideas and practical wisdom alongside original voices in narrative non-fiction, notably in Travel and Adventure writing. Theirs is an eclectic, curated approach to vigorously publishing only what’s new, special, and well worth reading.
